I am pleased to inform you that I was appointed as president of ITX Corporation on June 24.
Our Company has been striving to reform our corporate structure since the preceding fiscal year. We undertook a major reshuffle of our business portfolio and other significant actions to enable us to make more rapid progress in boosting profitability and strengthening our financial standing.
Based on our achievements, we will be redoubling our efforts to address the challenges we have identified below.
Expanding the size of our business and increasing efficiency
Enhancing the function of providing customers with services
Creating services with unique added value
The aim for these challenges are to enhance profitability in the information and communication service business, which is now our core business.
To take these actions, we overhauled our organizational structure in July. This change includes the establishment of the Solutions Service Division.
The mobile telecommunication market, including mobile phones, is now mature, given more than 110 million cumulative mobile phone subscriptions in Japan. However, the overall market is demonstrating moderate long-term growth, driven by the rising popularity of smart phones, demand for smart phones as a second handset, and a shift of mobile telecommunication networks towards broadband technologies such as Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) and Long Term Evolution (LTE). We believe that the fixed communication line market, including optical lines, is also expanding as demand for rapidly growing optical lines is likely to remain brisk and demand for a switch to the Next Generation Network (NGN) is anticipated.
ITX Corporation aims to succeed in this environment by combining the strengths of all officers and employees under its new organizational structure to execute the initiatives described above, in a concerted effort to increase corporate value.
We respectfully ask for your understanding and support.
